The Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen: Nourishing Bodies, Uplifting Souls

At the Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen, we serve more than just food-we provide nourishment for both the body and soul. Our Life Meal program offers a hot, home-cooked breakfast and lunch at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, served with care and dignity, using real dishes in a welcoming, table-side setting. As a beacon of hope for underserved individuals and families-including those facing homelessness, addiction, or mental illness-our passion is to serve with the respect and kindness every person deserves. We create a safe, family-friendly environment where all are welcome, including parents and children.

Access Point for the Community

Access Point for the Community

The Rose of Sharon serves as a vital Access Point for those seeking a better quality of life. Our no-barriers-to-access philosophy means that everyone, from individuals to families and veterans, has an open door to services. If we can’t provide direct assistance, we partner with community organizations to connect our guests with the right resources. Our services extend beyond meals; we provide administrative support such as mailing addresses, telephone access, and office space for community partners offering essential public services.

Life-Line Programs: Supporting Daily Needs

Life-Line Programs: Supporting Daily Needs

Our Life-Line programs go far beyond two free hot meals daily, but also includes a pantry stocked with post-market goods, balanced food boxes to-go, shower services, hygiene kits tailored to men and women, surprises for children, pet food, and essential supplies. These services are available to everyone in need, including the homeless, local community members, families with children, and veterans.

Heart-to-Heart: Advocacy with Compassion

Heart-to-Heart: Advocacy with Compassion

At the heart of our mission is the Heart-to-Heart program, which offers holistic Life-Advocacy services. Through social and spiritual counseling, emergency shelter, and care coordination, we empower our guests to improve their lives. We believe in building relationships rooted in empathy, love, and compassion, and treating our guests like family as we guide them toward wellness and spiritual awakening. Our services include assessment, placement, sponsorship, and ongoing support, all driven by a deep commitment to helping those most in need.

A Pathway to Spiritual and Physical Wellness

Our life-saving efforts are rooted in faith, offering not only practical support but also the opportunity for spiritual growth. We strive to be a vessel for God’s grace, providing pathways to healing and renewal. The success of our programs is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and staff—each embodying Christ’s love, empathy, and compassion.

“For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited me in. I needed clothes, and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me” - Matthew 25:35-36
